Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic artist, performer and composer. He blends jazz from the soul genre with R&B for a distinctive mixture. From Broadway to European music festivals and clubs the singer has done work across the globe. Sunshine's real name is Denise White. Though she lives in Atlanta but she is from Chester Pennsylvania where she began music by performing as well as playing the piano at church. In Atlanta she was a student at Spellman College where her musical instruction began with Atlanta's R&B Scene. The first song to feature her vocals was Stalk You the Japanese version of 12; since then it has been re-mixed and is now element of her set. Her voice also appeared in the music video for The Fighting Temptations. In 2005, she was commissioned as the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, who won Tony and Grammy Awards for her vocals, asked Sunshine to join the Dreamgirls show during Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was the subject of national media attention due to her four daily performances during the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Sunshine was chosen to sing as part of the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
