Anne W. Burrell has been a chef and television personality in the United States and an instructor at Institute of Culinary Education. Anne W. Burrell is host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on Food Network. Food Network, as well as co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host sporting spiky blonde locks and a lively personality, explains how to prepare restaurant-style meals in your home with simple techniques. Chef Burrell has worked in several of the most prestigious eateries within New York, studied the food culture and culinary traditions of Italy, and battled on the Food Network's Iron Chef America. When she was a kid in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was inspired by food. Her passion was for the restaurant industry by enrolling in The Culinary Institute of America following her graduation in English and Communications from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. I loved every minute that I was a student at The Culinary Institute of America she says. It was impossible to learn and do enough or put in the hours. Following her graduation, Chef Burrell went on to spend one time in Italy studying at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. When she was in Italy the chef developed an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian cuisine. It made a huge effect on the way she thinks about food. Burrell was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to improve the lives of children who face challenges. Additionally, she is an Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity ambassador where she advocates for awareness of juvenile diabetes. She travels frequently around the country in her role as both a mentor and guest speaker where she discusses her work and passion for cooking. Anne always felt fortunate that she had the opportunity to share her love of sharing her cooking skills with other people.
